Lavender French Toast with Pear Compote
I love making compotes for my french toasts. It just puts them to another level! You can try my recipe below with other fruits like mangoes and strawberries/blueberries. Just omit the cinnamon for the berries compote.

Pear Cinnamon Compote

1 large pear, diced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup water
optional: 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Mix sugar and cinnamon. 
  2. Roll diced pears in the cinnamon mixture.
  3. In a pan, simmer 1/4 cup water (add some more if needed). 
  4. Cook pears in the water until tender.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Delicious tip: Add a dollop of cream when serving with french toasts.
  7. Optional: You may add some butter to the compote for a richer taste.
